I was too unespecific, I thought about it and pretty much the only thing
scripts grant are the hability to be modified, however, I think any script
expected to be modified has high chances of being for advanced users and
thus, should not be included in the main distribution.
Anyway, this may seem a little tough but we could always ship the compiler,
due to the fact Crystal's compiler is LLVM based is pretty fast.
Finally, if anyone still thinks all this is overkill and yet think any of
those should be a script, feel free to tell me and I'll create python
version.
So my point is, we should clean the script repo and divide it in at least
two repos ( base for gobo's general scripts, and another for the
convenience ones).
Post by Sergio Tortosa BeneditoWell it's pretty much ruby, maybe theres the possiblity you may even use
ruby.

Post by Sergio Tortosa BeneditoHi there Devense! I guess you are now a Dev (a Gobo one I think), right?
<insert cymbal sound here>.
Anyway, if you are interested, I've been working on updating Gobo's
scripts
Post by Sergio Tortosa Benedito(written originally in Bash, I've been using a pretty-much-Ruby compiled
language called Crystal), another topic which needs love is the "build"
system.
Interesting. They would certainly be more maintainable in a structured
language like Crystal. Though I wonder if a compiled language is
fitting.
